Memories

There are many memories we create in this journey of life. Ultimately, there are a few memories that really impact us. Generally these memories contributed to our happiness, but also caused us immense pain. Many times, after these events have passed, we still hold onto these memories. Despite the person or the situation no longer being a part of our life, we still struggle to accept what has happened and to let go for good. Sometimes, we have hope that we will be able to relive that event again because of the happiness it gave us. Other times, we fear the same event taking place because it has scarred us, emotionally and mentally.

Memories give us the opportunity to re-live moments in our heads. I always find myself looking back to certain experiences. More so with the people I have crossed paths with and who are no longer in my life. I often find myself wondering about them from time to time. Sometimes, it's hard to believe that they were even a part of my life once upon a time. However, as the years have gone on I have come to realise that everything is temporary. People, moments, places, everything. Once you come to this realisation, you discipline yourself into acceptance, because really and truly, we have no choice but to accept that one day everything will be just a memory.

The people we love will always remain in our hearts no matter how much they have distanced. The events we experienced will have taught us many lessons that we can use in the future. Everything we go through aids our growth. A bad experience does not lead to the end. Instead, it leads to many more new beginnings and chapters for you to embrace.

Remind yourself that God is always with you, throughout the good and the bad.
