Sometimes we have to walk away or let go of certain things that we love. Sometimes we have to sacrifice and accept certain events. These situations require having faith in Allah because that is where our hope will lie, that is where our ease will lie and that is where we will find solace. Building that faith during a period of sorrow can prove to be difficult because although our souls crave a connection to Allah, our hearts are too attached to this Dunya. We want our plans to come true because we believe that it is best for us but we fail to realise that we will be tested with what we want to learn that what we desire can be the very thing that destroys us. We must learn to have faith in His plans as He knows what is best for us.
The state of our hearts reflect our faith. Having faith does not mean that you will not experience sadness, what it means is that you will have the strength and the patience to endure the battles that you are facing regardless of its severity. You will trust the process and you will trust that there will be ease. Our faith in Allah is what will keep us composed and level headed. Maintaining faith requires self discipline and developing a healthy mindset. It can take a very long time to master the art of maintaining faith and in many cases, it is an ongoing process because our faith will always fluctuate. However, as long as we get back on track and put our trust in Allah, we will begin to reap the fruits of our hardships.
